We wanted to position Melobee as a subversive alternative to the mainstream music streaming platforms, and to make both listeners and artists feel like they could be part of something revolutionary.

For listeners, this meant appealing to the idea that they are normally told what to listen to instead of being given the opportunity to choose for themselves, and for artists it meant offering them a self-controlled route to success that upended the traditional major label industry model.
